Message ..killer of rotary engines. The exhaust pipe can melt the rear valence because it gets so hot. The downpipe will move some of that traffic'd heat because the pre-cat suffocates the turbos. Also, the vacuum lines under the intake plenum become brittle due to it heating up and cooling down and you could lose boost. You shouldn't have to worry about it at 8k miles though but something to consider. Fuel filter and spark plugs would need to be replaces more often than your basic non-rotary engine. Many rotary experts also warn against synthetic oil due to deposits from the extra heat. I see your from the Columbus area and the guys that run rx7club.com (the best RX7 forum on the net) are also from Columbus. When you first start up the car, you'll notice the RPM's jump to 3k to heat up the pre-cats. Blip the throttle and lower it because it's bad for the engine because the oil is still too cold to be running at 3k RPM's. E-mail me of you have any more questions. My best friend has one here in Cleveland that runs 12's with very basic upgrades.
